The Shuswap Hoops Story

About Us

These initial discussions focused on offering various coach and player development opportunities in the fall and spring, through an inclusive and affordable model amateur sports model.

In the summer of 2023, the Shuswap Hoops Basketball Club took over running the “Hoops Are Hot in the Shuswap”, a long-standing summer basketball camp initiated by former SAS Jewels coach and Basketball BC Hall of Fame member, Terry Michell.  This camp has been running for over 40 years.

After many meetings and considerable time and effort, our first board of directors were nominated and voted into position and our club’s constitution was adopted, formalizing the Shuswap Hoops Basketball Club on October 16, 2023.

Our logo and colour scheme were created by Aden Vu, a Salmon Arm Secondary alumni.

Throughout our club’s existence, Shuswap Hoops has been well supporting by local businesses and organizations such as Vuonfilm, Spectrum Signworks, Trilogy solutions, Pseudo Creations, Armstrong Optometry and K̓wsaltktnéws ne Secwepemcúl’ecw  School District No.83.
